Suffrida was a Dutch emigrant, from Noordwijk, South Holland. Casparus was the son of Suffridus Renicus Hermanides and Johanna Louisa Willemina Hermanides, who were first cousins. Neeltje was the daughter of Gerrit Jan Hulsman and Anna Elizabeth Krenning.
