Of course shes European just like some other South African models or i.e Charlize Theron. The Dutch or Germans settled in little colonies in South Africa and stayed pretty much by themselves. Also so called “Afrikaans” is just a language of Dutch derivation. I agree I don’t know why people refer to those people as South Africans but they do it everywhere with all immigrants just call them where they were born even if its technically wrong, but its commonly known SA used to be a Dutch colony

Afrikaans is now considered a language in itself no longer a dialect of Dutch.The Dutch and the Germans didn’t stick to themselves, Afrikaans itself is more a hybrid language comprising mainly of Dutch, French, English, German, Malay, Arabic and indigenous South African languages like Zulu. So the “Dutch” community as you call them, in SA is a mixture of these different groups. Afrikaners have as much relation to Dutch culture and Dutch people as wolves have to dogs. Afrikaners are culturally African in the sense their culture arose in Africa and wouldn’t exist outside of it. There, knowledge dropped… Oh yes, SA wasn’t really a Dutch colony, the Cape was but thats like saying the US was a Dutch colony because New York was once New Amsterdam.
