A black person in New York with a name like McLaughlin. I’d say it’s some 95% chance they’re Jamaican. It’s also a common name in the Caymans, but I don’t think Caymanians gravitate towards NY.
How didn’t you know Mr. McLaughlin was Caleb’s 4rd (random) great-grandfather’s Irish master in Alabama or Georgia?
I mean, you speak of this as if it’s common knowledge. I take it you’re from New York? Would the same hold for Putnam County where Caleb is from? I’m just confused about your certainty, particularly given that McLaughlin is not a particularly uncommon surname anywhere.
I’m not from NY. I don’t know where you got that I am certain, I said in my previous reply that there’s ”some 95% chance”.
