Broderick Crawford was an American actor. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for All the King’s Men (1949).

Broderick was the son of Helen A. (Broderick) and Lester Crawford (born Lester Crawford Pendergast), both vaudeville performers.

Broderick’s paternal grandparents were Daniel Pendergast (the son of Daniel Pendergast and Mary Galvin or Corcoran) and Fannie L. Crawford (the daughter of Michael Crawford and Theresa). Daniel was born in New York, to Irish parents. Fannie was born in Maine, also to Irish parents.

Broderick’s maternal grandparents were William E. Broderick and Emma M. Kraus. William and Emma were both actors and singers. William was born in Pennsylvania. Emma was also born in Pennsylvania, to German parents.
