Brenda Song is an American actress, singer, producer, and model. She has appeared in the films Leave it to Beaver, College Road Trip, Secret Obsession, The Ultimate Christmas Present, and The Social Network.
Her father is a Hmong who emigrated to the U.S. from Laos. Her mother is Thai, and was adopted by Hmong parents. Brenda has two children with her partner, actor, musician, and podcaster Macaulay Culkin.
Her father’s family name was originally Xiong, but was changed to Song after her father moved to the U.S. Brenda is fluent in Hmong and stated in an interview that her father encouraged her and her brothers to speak Hmong at home to keep their culture.

Hmong people are their own culture and aren’t from Laos. Laotians are the only original natives of Laos. It just happens that Hmongs were forced to reside in parts of Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and even Vietnam because they were kicked out of their own homeland. Their considered nomads and originate from somewhere in Mongolia. I am Laotian American and have much respect for Hmong immigrants who live in the US. Well, immigrants in general because of the harsh racism that they we all had to face during that time.
