Billy Bragg is an English singer, songwriter, and left-wing activist. He is also known as William Bragg.

Billy is the son of Marie Victoria and Dennis Frederick Austin Bragg, who was an assistant sales manager to a Barking cap maker and milliner.

Billy’s paternal grandfather was William Bragg (the son of Frederick Bragg and Elizabeth Baker).

Billy’s paternal grandmother was May Kathleen Austin (the daughter of George Austin and Susan Perry). Susan was the daughter of Robert Perry and Matilda.

Billy’s maternal grandfather was Anielli D’Urso (the son of Alfonso D’Urso and Trofimena Giudotti). Anielli’s parents were born in Minori, Salerno, Campania, on the Amalfi Coast. Alfonso had an ice cream business in the U.K. Trofimena was the daughter of Luigi Giudotti.

Billy’s maternal grandmother was named Daisy Simmonds.
