Bill Sharman was an American professional basketball player and coach. He was a shooting guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame as a player in 1976, and a coach in 2004.
Bill was the son of Ola May and John Walton Sharman, Jr.
Bill’s paternal grandfather was John Walton Sharman (the son of James Sharman and Elizabeth Victoria McMichael). James was born in Jasper County, Georgia, the son of William Robert Sharman III and Nancy Stallings. Elizabeth was born in Georgia, the daughter of Green Lee McMichael and Elizabeth Nancy Hill.
