Julie London was an American singer and actress. She was a torch singer, known for her contralto vocals, and her recording of the famous song “Cry Me a River.” She starred in the films The Fat Man, Saddle the Wind, Man of the West, and The Wonderful Country, and on the series Emergency!, among other works.

Julie was the daughter of Josephine Rosalie and Clarence Walter/Leamon Peck, who were a song-and-dance team in vaudeville. She was raised in San Bernardino, then Hollywood, California. She was married to actor, jazz pianist, singer, and songwriter Bobby Troup, until his death. She had two children with her former husband, actor, producer, and director Jack Webb; and three children with Bobby.

Julie’s paternal grandfather was Wallace Elwood Peck (the son of Sedley Clarendale Peck and Mary Emeline Hazen). Wallace was born in Ohio. Sedley was the son of Horace Robert Peck, who was born in New York, and of Mary Johnson, who was born in Virginia. Julie’s great-grandmother Mary was the daughter of George Washington Hazen, who was born in Worthington, Massachusetts, and of Mary Salisbury, who was an English immigrant.

Julie’s paternal grandmother was Elizabeth Santry O’Brian/O’Bryan (the daughter of Stephen O’Brian and Ellen Santry). Elizabeth was born in Virginia City, Nevada, to Irish immigrant parents.

Julie’s maternal grandfather was Franklin J. Taylor (the son of Wilmer Alfred Taylor and Josephine Wurmser). Franklin was born in Ohio. Wilmer was the son of William B. Taylor and Dissiah Larkins. Julie’s great-grandmother Josephine was the daughter of Oswald Wurmser and Françoise Allheily, who were from Alsace, France. Oswald was of German descent and Françoise was of French descent.

Julie’s maternal grandmother was Lillie June Etta Street (the daughter of Mannon Brady Street, Sr. and Cerilda Jane Smith). Lillie was born in Michigan. Mannon was the son of Emberson Street and Sophia Arnold. Cerilda was the daughter of David Smith and Harriet Good.

    Nice to see her profiled, Imdb for some reason claims she has Jewish heritage, looks like that isn’t the case.
