The odd “Cat Rastler” surname is of Austrian origin: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/landscape/L2MV-LSM
How did Catherine Cat Rastler manage to be born in Austria, live in Piedmont and die in Ohio?
Ask the Mormons.
The surname should’ve been anglicized to Cat-wrestler in the U.S.
Why not.
In a novel by Piedmontese writer Margherita Giacobino, there’s a reference to this odd surname. It is said to come from Germany. There are still Cat Rastler families there, and a place name after it.
It makes me think to Carla Bruni’s biological father, whose surname is Remmert (of Prussian origin)
For the record, do you know for sure that’s Abrams’ grandmother, or could it be a step-grandmother?
Did you find another wife? If so, then I’m not sure.
I did see Sandra Magness also listed as Sandra Wagner, suggesting another husband, although it could be wrong. In general I’m more careful about step-parents these days since it’s happened so often.
Yeah, Wallace was also listed as Wagner. I thought it was some kind of a mistake where someone mistranscribed Magness as Wagner.
