Ally Maki is an American actress, voice actress, and musician. Her roles include the films Geography Club, Toy Story 4, as Giggle McDimples; Into the Dark: My Valentine, and Home Sweet Home Alone, and the series 10 Things I Hate About You, Wrecked, and Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger. She is also known as Ally Matsumura.

Ally is the daughter of Judith and Eugene Matsumura. Her father was born in California. Her mother was born in Montana. She is a Yonsei, a fourth-generation Japanese-American. All of her great-grandparents emigrated to the U.S. from Japan. Her paternal grandparents, and maternal grandmother, along with all of their own parents, were relocated to U.S. internment camps in the 1940s.

Ally’s paternal grandfather was Masao/Roy Matsumura (the son of Rokuzaemon/Roy Matsumura and Takeko Tomie). Masao was born in Wyoming, to Japanese parents, from Kurimi-mura, Kanzaki-gun, Shiga-ken. Rokuzaemon was the son of 松村 竹次郎 and Riki Fujimura. Takeko was the daughter of Yosuke Tomie and 田井中 てる.

Ally’s paternal grandmother was Tomiko Maeda (the daughter of Yakichi Maeda and Hatsu Maruyama). Tomiko was born in California, to Japanese parents. Yakichi was born in Nishimuro-gun, Wakayama-ken. Hatsu was born in Kumamoto-ken.

Ally’s maternal grandfather was Kazuyuki/Bryan Honkawa (the son of Tokuichi/Tony Honkawa and Itoye Ishii). Kazuyuki was born in Montana, to Japanese parents, from Hiroshima-ken. Tokuichi was the son of Saichi Honkawa and Koto Harada. Itoye was born in Kure, Kure-shi.

Ally’s maternal grandmother was Miyoko/May/Miyo Miyauchi (the daughter of Iwasuke Miyauchi and Maki Tsuji). Miyoko was born in California, to Japanese parents, from Kyūshū. She was held at Heart Mountain Relocation Center during WWII.
