Yu Darvish (ダルビッシュ 有) is a Japanese professional baseball player. He is a pitcher for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has also played for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, the Texas Rangers, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Chicago Cubs.

His father, Farsad Darvishsefat, is Iranian. His mother, Ikuyo, is Japanese. His parents met while studying in Florida, U.S. The couple settled in Osaka, Japan, where Yu was born. Yu and stands at 6’5″, 196cm. His father was also a sportsman, excelling in soccer and motocross.

Yu has two children with his former wife, Japanese actress, model, and television personality Saeko; and a son with his partner, Japanese wrestler Seiko Yamamoto.
