Alexis Ohanian is an American internet entrepreneur, investor, and activist. He is the co-founder of social news aggregation, content rating, and forum social network Reddit, with Steve Huffman and Aaron Swartz. He was the site’s executive chairman. He also co-founded venture capital fund Initialized Capital and travel search website Hipmunk, and created “geek appealing”-company Breadpig.

His father, Christopher John “Chris” Ohanian, is an American, whose ancestors were Armenian Genocide survivors. His mother, Anke (Prigge), was a German emigrant, from Hamburg. He attended high school in Ellicott City, Maryland. Alexis is married to professional tennis player Serena Williams, with whom he has two children.

Alexis’ paternal grandfather was John Avedis Ohanian (the son of Avedis Ohanian and Victoria/Manzer). John was an Armenian emigrant, from Harput.

Alexis’ paternal grandmother was Elizabeth Der Krikorian (the daughter of Gazar Der Krikorian and Elizabeth Hagopian). Alexis’ grandmother Elizabeth was born in Marseille, France, to Armenian Genocide survivors, from Bitlis.
