Adolphe Menjou was an American actor. He appeared in both silent and talking pictures. His films included The Sheik, A Woman of Paris, The Marriage Circle, Morocco, The Front Page, A Star Is Born (1937), and Paths of Glory.
He was the son of Nora (Joyce) and Jean Adolphe Albert Menjou. His father was French. His mother was Irish. Adolphe was married to actress Verree Teasdale, until his death. The couple had a son, who was adopted.
Adolphe’s paternal grandfather was Bernard Severin Menjou (the son of Jean Pierre Menjou and Madeleine Subervielle). Bernard was born in Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France.
