Tara Morice is an Australian actress, singer, and dancer. She has starred in the films Strictly Ballroom, Metal Skin, Hotel Sorrento, Moulin Rouge!, Oranges and Sunshine, and Carmen (2022); and in the Dogwoman made-for-tv movies.

She was partly raised in Sydney, Alice Springs, and Adelaide.

Tara’s paternal grandfather was Ray Paterson Morice (the son of Robert Ayre Morice and Catherine Emms). Ray was born in Breadalbane, Tasmania, Australia. Robert was the son of Robert Morice, who was Scottish, and of Janet Anderson. Catherine was the daughter of Thomas Emms, whose parents were English; and of Janet Paterson, who was Scottish.

Tara’s paternal grandmother was Vera Proctor (the daughter of Samuel Cornelius Proctor and Clara Maria Jacobson). Vera was born in Frankford, Tasmania, Australia. Samuel was the son of Cornelius Proctor and Hannah Osborne. Clara was the daughter of George Jacobson and Mary Ann Tattersall. Tara’s great-great-grandfather George was the son of Nison/Nisson/Nason/Nasan Jacobson, who was born in Liepāja, Latvia; and of Hannah Athorn, who was English. Nison was Jewish; he was charged with forgery in England in 1817, and sentenced to fourteen years transportation.

Tara’s maternal grandfather likely was the son of Numa Joseph Sisley and Agnes Moir. Numa was born in Illinois, U.S., the son of Numa Jules Romain Sisley, who was born in Dunkirk, France, to an English father and a French mother; and of Jane Standen, who was English. Agnes was born in Cork, Ireland.

Tara’s maternal grandmother was Cecily Roberta Goodyear (the daughter of Robert Charles Goodyear and Mabel Letitia Gardner). Cecily was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Robert was the son of Charles Goodyear, who was born in Bodmin, Cornwall, England. Mabel was the daughter of Thomas Gardner and Sarah Ellen Gorman.

I think Tara’s maternal grandfather was the son of Numa Joseph Sisley and Agnes Moir. Numa was born in Illinois, U.S., to Numa Jules Romain Sisley, who was born in Dunkirk, France, to an English father and a French mother, and of Jane Standen, who was English. Agnes was born in Cork, Ireland.

There are a few Sisley families in Australia, but this one lined up well with the two remaining ethnicities mentioned in her Wikipedia article; Irish and French. So it just fits very well.
