Juan Luis Guerra is a Dominican musician, singer, songwriter, composer, and record producer.

He is the son of Olga Altagracia Seijas Herrero and professional basketball player Gilberto Guerra Pacheco. He is married to Nora Clementina Altagracia Vega Rasuk, and has two children. Nora is the aunt, father’s sister, of Miss Universe 2003 winner, model, actress, writer, and singer Amelia Vega.

Juan Luis’ paternal grandfather was Juan Guerra Figueredo (the son of Calixto María Guerra Tejeda and Esperanza Figueredo). Calixto was the son of Juan Guerra and Ramona Tejeda. Esperanza was the daughter of Hipólita Figueredo.

Juan Luis’ paternal grandmother was named Irene Pacheco.
