Ray McKinnon is an American actor, screenwriter, film director, and producer. His roles include the films Driving Miss Daisy, Stephen King’s Needful Things, Apollo 13, O Brother, Where Art Thou?; The Blind Side, Take Shelter, and Ford v Ferrari, and the series Deadwood, Sons of Anarchy, and Mayans M.C. He directed, wrote, and starred in the films Chrystal and Randy and the Mob, and created the show Rectify.
He is the son of Dorothy and Raymond Judson McKinnon. He was married to actress Lisa Blount, until her death.
Ray’s paternal grandfather was Hubert Raymond McKinnon (the son of William Henry McKinnon and Augustus Varnia Maude Smith).
Ray’s paternal grandmother was Susie Adelaide “Sadie” Groover (the daughter of Solomon Daniel Groover, Jr. and Ida Jane Groover). Solomon and Ida were both born with the same surname.
