Birth Name: Michael Joseph Jackson

Date of Birth: August 29, 1958

Place of Birth: Gary, Indiana, U.S.

Date of Death: June 25, 2009

Place of Death: Los Angeles, California, U.S.

Michael Jackson was an American singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, and actor. He was nicknamed the “King of Pop.” He electrified audiences with his stage performances and dance routines.

Michael was the son of Katherine/Kattie Esther/B. (Scruse) and Joseph Walter Jackson. He was the brother of singer, songwriter, and actress Janet Jackson and singer and songwriter La Toya Jackson. He had three children, including Paris Jackson. Musicians 3T (Tariano Jackson, Taryll Jackson, and Tito Jackson) are his nephews.

Michael went through an abusive childhood at the hands of his father, Joseph.

Despite the controversies in Michael’s life, he has always been loved by his fans. Michael died on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50, due to cardiac arrest.

Michael Jackson was African-American.

Michael’s father had stated that he has Native American ancestry. Michael’s brother Jermaine has said this also. It is not clear if this ancestry has been verified/documented. Joseph also stated that he had some caucasian roots. It has also been said that Michael’s mother has Blackfoot Native American ancestry, also as yet unverified, at least publicly.

Michael’s paternal grandfather was Samuel Joseph Jackson (the son of Israel Nero Jackson and Emeline Williams). Samuel was born in Mississippi, and was said to be of partial Choctaw Native American descent (as well as having black ancestry). It is not clear if this has been verified. Israel and Emeline are listed only as “Black” on United States censuses. Israel was the son of Jack July Gayle/Milam and Mary Freeman or Gina Gale.

Michael’s paternal grandmother was Crystal Lee King (the daughter of Samuel King and Gertrude Daniel). Crystal was born in Arkansas. Samuel was the son of William King and Nellie. Gertrude was the daughter of Thomas “Tom” Daniel and Martha “Mattie” Cason. Mattie was said to be the daughter of a white woman and a black slave man.

Michael’s maternal grandfather was Prince Albert Screws/Scruse (the son of Prince Scruse and Julia Belle Jordan). Michael’s grandfather Prince was born in Alabama. Michael’s great-grandfather Prince was the son of Prince Screws and Mary Etta. Julia was the daughter of Julius Willis Jordan and Rosetta Hall.

Michael’s maternal grandmother was Martha “Mattie” Upshaw (the daughter of Daniel Upshaw and Jeanette Brown). Martha was born in Alabama. Daniel was the son of Jonas Upshaw and Minerva Grant. Jeanette was the daughter of Columbus Brown and Henrietta Peterson.

Why I’m I not surprised that his dad, Joseph & his brother, Jermaine (of all his siblings) claim to have other ancestry? It’s too obvious that family are a bunch of self hating negroes, that’s why Michael did all that crap to his face & looked like a white woman when he died. That resentment of their black skin must have been taught to him by his father. Jermaine ate it up, the guy is greasy as hell, he’d light up if he stood near fire. Just look at all the Jacksons, all the men are with non black women, until recently, Janet was the only one who at least dated black men, but well, she’s a Jackson, so it was only a matter of time before she realized her true nature & dated outside. Then you have people like LaToya, who ruin their appearance to appear non black. Michael Jackson had no problem leaving his fortune to some white kids who don’t have his blood & were raised white, that’s why his ‘daughter’ has no problem dating a guy with a confederate tattoo on his arm. The next generation of Jackson’s will have no black face in sight, that’s why Janet probably had to get a non black mate to have kids with because she knew if she had a black baby, her self hating family would treat the baby like crap

Quote( The next generation of Jackson’s will have no black face in sight)

I was thinking the same thing. I saw the family picture, and I couldn’t believe it

fuzzybear44 December 24, 2016 at 1:26 am

Also you know Jamaicans have that problem now. They want to look like Mike, with that pale skin

neiltennant June 28, 2018 at 1:46 am

i dont believe that they want to be white or that they intentionally do it on the racist way ”racist”

i know tons of people who are black and had both black and super white blonde boyfriends or girlfriends

we could easily pass for father and son haha

LucarioCooper August 18, 2016 at 9:44 pm

This is actually very interesting. I can conclude he does have blackfoot in him because I do.

Me and him has similar features such as eyes, nose(mines is a little smaller while head is a tiny bit bigger), hair, and soft voice.

I learned from my family that my Dad is African-American or Zimbabwe(not sure yet) and Native American Blackfoot. My grandmother was Blackfoot with very long curls(highly light-skinned), but not in a form of an Afro.

My mom is Afro-Caribbean(U.S Virgin Islander) and the way her hair grows intrigues me. It doesn’t really grow up like my hair. My dad’s hair was very curly too.

I remember my hair was starting to fall down, and my friend told me I looked like Michael. I wasn’t a fan, but now is listening to a lot of his songs. Lol.

I can safely say our eyes are our best features.

I don’t care if it is a comedy, a white man (Joseph Fiennes ) playing Michael Jackson is yet another spit in the face

follers January 28, 2016 at 9:08 am

Michael Jackson was white.

slowdive January 28, 2016 at 6:25 pm

He was a self-hating Negro. Michael probably would’ve happy at a white actor playing him.

Whitewashing. They want it to be a success so they can keep making more shows about his ‘white period’, diluting his ‘black period’ as a star.

follers January 27, 2016 at 3:12 pm

So it’s his maternal grandfather you’re saying was part Native American now?

While this is also hearsay, a descendant of July Gale says here that July was a slave.

Given the names of his sisters listed on the census, I’m reasonably sure that’s the correct Israel Nero Jackson listed in 1870. No other person with the same name and age seems to have lived in Mississippi. It’s entirely possible “July Gale” was a family legend of some sort. I’m not sure if his existence has been proven (it may have been).

Stories of Native American ancestry seem to be even more, or at least as, common among African-Americans as they are among white Americans. At this point I don’t believe either without some documented evidence.

savanna January 27, 2016 at 5:29 pm

It is claimed that both Joseph and Katherine Jackson have Native American ancestry.
I know it’s not confirmed, I am just posting what I find on the matter.
I personally believe the Jackson’s, although I know it could all be family myth.

I don’t think we will get documented evidence since records for black and biracial people (one drop rule) are more difficult to find because of insufficient record keeping for blacks before the Civil War. :( White American ancestry is far better documented.

Hopefully, we get more valid information in the future.

fuzzybear44 January 28, 2016 at 4:32 am

Even with white people, I wouldn’t trust the paper work. Another problem with the blk/native mix, is that many didn’t live within the tribes, so they wouldn’t have been documented. During relocations, many of these mixes left, without being put on record. Also a lot of family records were destroyed during fires(whole city blocks when up like that). Just putting this in here.

bearboy January 26, 2016 at 7:42 pm

If @Bearboy was to guess his hero Michael Jackson has Native American ancestry. @Bearboy even read somewhere that African-American’s were on average 2% Native American!

savanna January 26, 2016 at 3:48 pm

From Michael’s brother Jermain Jackson’s book, “You Are Not Alone, Michael: Through a Brother’s Eyes”:

“We always stayed near old Indian towns and walked the trails in homage to our ancestry. We grew up knowing we have Native American blood in our veins, passed down from both the Choctaw and Blackfoot tribes. The inherited physical attributes were our high cheek bones, light skin and hairless chests”. (pg. 49)

“[Michael was] Native-American Indian by ancestry” (pg. 345)

It seems possible that there is some Native American ancestry, maybe it just went unrecorded??
The census takers saw their grandparents as black, hence why they were listed as such, I doubt they cared whether or not they had any other ancestry.(especially in the South)

follers January 26, 2016 at 4:44 pm

Of course it’s possible. That’s why I wrote “It is not clear if this ancestry has been verified/documented”, as opposed to “Michael had no Native American ancestry”.

Just last week, Maya Rudolph stated on Finding Your Roots that her family believed that one of her maternal grandparents’ mothers was a (full-blooded, I think) Native American, but then Maya’s DNA result showed no Native American ancestry at all. Stories of Native American ancestry among African-Americans are quite common.

If a person was of mixed African-American and Native American ancestry, they were usually listed as black (or “Mulatto”) on the census. Sometimes, as with Rebecca Hall’s grandfather, they were listed as “Indian” (I am not even sure if her grandfather actually had Native American ancestry, or if he was just trying to hide his black ancestry). So I know the census is not definitive in ruling out Native American roots.

savanna January 26, 2016 at 5:59 pm

True. I’m not ignoring the mentions of this ancestry within the article.

The thing with the Jackson is that they specially mention Choctaw and Blackfoot tribes as their ancestors rather than “I have some Native American in me!” (as many celebrity have and continue to claim). Joe Jackson explicitly names his great-grandfather Jack as Choctaw Native-American.
IMO “possible Native American” should be added/tagged to their Ethnicity, since there is a stronger possibly of it being true, compared to say one of the Jonas Brothers who have “possible Native American” listed.

follers January 26, 2016 at 7:01 pm

People who claim Native American ancestry usually mention specific tribes. It’s not that rare. Johnny Depp has mentioned at least three tribes, as I recall.

Is there really a stronger possibility for the Jacksons than for the Jonases?

savanna January 26, 2016 at 7:38 pm

Do they usually mention a specific ancestor? Someone like Johnny Depp has mostly white ancestors so it is easier to disprove the Native American heritage since there are more records of his ancestors.

follers January 26, 2016 at 7:40 pm

They often do mention a specific ancestor, like Maya Rudolph did, or like Depp often does (he usually points to his maternal grandfather as having been of mostly Native American descent). Kevin Costner said that his paternal grandfather was of half Cherokee descent.

As you can see below, I probably found a census record of Michael’s great-great-grandfather, the one who was supposed to be Native American.

follers January 26, 2016 at 7:42 pm

BTW, the reason I listed “possible Cherokee Native American” for the Jonases is that I don’t know who their paternal grandfather was, so the data I have to work with is incomplete.

savanna January 27, 2016 at 5:14 am

“The name Jackson was received by us from my great-grandfather on the part of the father, July Gale. Nobody called him July, everybody called him just Jack. Great-grandfather Jack was born in tribe Choctaw in the beginning of 19 century… Then great-grandfather has fallen in love with the fine girl by name Gina. In 1838 they gave birth to their first son, a boy whom they have named Israel. Unfortunately in past was so, that if one of the child’s parents was a slave, the child also was considered a slave. Indian Jack was ” the free person “, but my great-grandmother unfortunately was a slave. When Israel had grown up, people have nicknamed him Nero. Nero, son of Jack, and eventually from this it has turned to Nero Jack-son.” – Joe Jackson
Israel was apparently mixed, but he was still considered Black regardless.

This is just my personal opinion, but I am more inclined to believe someone who is black when they say they have Native ancestry over a white person. American black people don’t have the extensive family trees that white people do, due to slavery (we all now this). I know it is possible that it’s just family folklore that they have certain ancestors, but I trust that they MAY have some more insight into their family history than what we know publically.

savanna January 27, 2016 at 5:22 am

Also here is Michael’s maternal grandfather: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=38862329

(he looks partially Native American in this picture (to me at least): http://image1.findagrave.com/photos/2009/226/38862329_125036036330.jpg )

follers January 26, 2016 at 7:36 pm

I believe this is Michael’s great-grandfather, Israel Nero Jackson, on the 1870 U.S. Census. If Israel’s siblings names listed on geni.com are correct, then it’s Israel, and thus Israel’s parents were William Jackson and Lucinda, both African-American.

savanna January 27, 2016 at 5:01 am

When you view this record there is no Nero listed (that I can see).. Israel “Nero”‘s father was not Wm Jackson, it was July Gale Milam.

Michael Jackson is confirmed to be part Native American. You can put it in the listed ethnicity backgrounds now.

He also has confirmed European ancestry. The type of European ethnicity is unknown.

follers June 3, 2015 at 6:21 pm

I added some of this to the text, but it seems pretty suspicious to me and I’m not sure of the sources (possibly family legends?). His allegedly Native American grandparents are only listed as “Black” on Censuses, not even as mixed-race.

I just thought, after reading a comment saying if you have even an ounce of black in you, you’re considered Black. I’m of dual heritage and love both my South African and my Irish roots. I get why, if you’re 75% African you’re considered African to make life easier, but if your nationality is 50-50 like I am, technically calling yourself a White person is as acceptable as calling yourself Black. Anyone understand my point?

sadie March 22, 2012 at 11:34 pm

I think if I were black I would have been insulted by Michael changing his skin color and not embracing his ethnicity. He was so cute when he was younger and my favorite album was “Thriller” I never heard of anyone being upset over him trying to look white, but most of all his perversion with little boys, you all know this is so true he had people cover this up.

Melody April 29, 2012 at 6:18 am

Mj didn’t ‘turn himself White’. He had a skin disorder, which someone on his dad’s side also had, which meant large areas of his skin lost pigmentation. He wore full body make up during “Bad” whilst his skin was changing. He lightened his skin yes, certainly when the majority of his skin had lost pigmentation. With all due respect, why are people under the impression someone would “want” to become White??? It’s not superior, nor is Black. Plus, he didn’t abuse children. The kid admitted he was lying and apologised – it was on the news and everything. You must have missed it.

Wow, I’ve been reading comments for a lot of celebrities on this site for a few weeks or so, quietly spectating, and passively giving a thumbs-up here or a thumbs-down there. But, now I feel it’s time to speak my own piece on this whole race issue…Race is a social construction formed by humans to seperate people for social and political reasons, i.e., creating a superior vs. inferior social hierarchy for the benefit of one group and the expense of the “other” group. Nationality simply refers to what part of the world we are from. I can be a Black British woman from the UK if I happen to have majority “Black” ancestry and also live in the UK. A White man can be a White South African if he has majority European blood but happens to live in South Africa. We are usually categorized within a race based on the most salient phenotypical traits we express along with our direct ancestry…Ok…I’m pretty sure that each and every person, especially in a place with a diverse populace such as America, has ancestors who have come from different parts of the world. However, majority of ancestors, if not almost all of them, probably represented more of a specific “race” over others. I am a Black woman who was born in and resides in America, so I’m Black or African-American or whatever other label society has put on me. This means that MAJORITY of my genetic lineage passed from both parents is majority, but not solely, African if I were to trace my lineage of ancestors as far back as possible. Race CANNOT put us in a box, however. Just cuz I’m categorized as a Black American doesn’t mean that I’ve never had a White or Asian or Native American or Hispanic ancestor. I have medium-brown skin, jet black curly thick long hair, full lips, a semi long-wide nose, dimples, and tight eyes. Looking at me would probably give you the impression that I’m Black with some close Native-American ancestry. The other hints of ancestry are simply distantly obscured. It’s almost impossible to pinpoint EVERY single race or ethnicity you or any celebrity is made of, in most cases where ancestors were displaced during slavery and trading and broken families. Now, some White ppl may not wanna read this, but they most likely don’t have homogenous blood of only European ancestry – The other tinges of ethnic ancestry may be so small that they are not obvious nor detected, and are thus obscured to the point that a White person may look “purely” White. However, due to history of slavery and trading and interracial copulation, even “White” ppl may have an undetectable tinge of non-European blood from a single distant obscure ethnic ancestor. Just like ppl with MAJORITY indirect African ancestry are considered Black, ppl with MAJORITY indirect European ancestry are considered White. This should not imply pure ancestry or pure blood so to speak. “Biracial” or “mixed” ppl, IMO, are ppl who have parents who are considered TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT RACES, i.e. Black-White, White-Asian, Black-Asian, Asian-White, Hispanic-Black, Hispanic-White parents, and so on. I think that any cultured adult who has a remote sense of intelligence should know by know that alot of ppl have bits and pieces of ancestral racial diversity, but to society, in political and demographic terms, we aren’t considered directly “mixed” automatically. All in all, we are original and exotic in our own ways: God took the time to ensure that we were all specially created with our own phenotypic and personal identity, down to the fingerprint. Love yourself!

I love you, Roger Scientist March 23, 2012 at 12:09 am

This is one of the few sensible comments on this site.

” Im A Black American, Im Proud To Be Black, Im Proud Of My Race, I Am Proud Of Who I Am” Michael Jackson 1993

Madelyn February 10, 2011 at 6:43 pm

Michael has a mixed heritage. His father is part black / white (this explains Joe’s blue eyes), Michael’s mother is part black / Native American (this explains the high cheek bones the Jacksons carry). His parents do look mixed. But that’s no surprise since a lot of people are mixed here in America. The downside is back in the slave days, if you have even a once of black in you than you are BLACK. Nothing more, nothing less. I think thats why the Jacksons (including Michael) just related to themselves as a ‘black family’. Besides, they do have more black in them oppose to white – this could also be another reason.

I honestly do not care about Michael’s race. It’s interesting to know his heritage (it makes you wonder, I get it) but to me it does not matter the color of skin. After all, there is only one race… that is the HUMAN RACE.

Alice December 26, 2011 at 6:17 am

Micheal had an illness not common to Black people so ingorance once again rules. Vitiligo is an illness barely known let alone trying to understand its complexities and to make fun of people who have it is just cruel. Cyrina February 4, 2011 at 9:03 pm

Is that true maya your birth certificate say that ? Am a jamaican so I wouldnt know .

Gavin October 10, 2011 at 12:48 am

There was a time when the law in American dictacted that a minority race group would be sold as slaves and treated as objects and that was unacceptable even tho it was the law. The law is not always right and it doesn’t mean because its the law we should just blindly accept it. The truth is mixed people will never be Black no matter what the law says. The problem with this is mixed people are marginalized and seen as different in reality. Mixed people will never function normally in an environment dominated by a pure race, even tho most would argue this, but stories can be told of intimidation at school and snide remarks passed around in code with suttle giggles. Mixed people should never be dominated by another race even by law.

Seba December 15, 2011 at 10:56 pm

Mmmmhm! And if the law were right we wouldn’t have a need for this board!!!! Laws are made to be changed!!! We all know that history needs to be rewritten in America!

Nathalie October 21, 2010 at 2:47 pm

I really don’t know if this is true but in the first article (at the very bottom of the page in which the article is titled “A Taiwanese Family’s Friendship with Michael Jackson (1 of 5)”) in which a woman translated an account of a taiwanese woman’s family’s account of her 15 yr friendship w/ Michael it says hel told the taiwanese lady Katherine (his mother) was a quarter chinese.
The link: http://mjmemoriestaiwan.blogspot.com/

Any truth to this?

Nathalie October 21, 2010 at 3:02 pm

Sorry, I mistyped. It’s a 17yr friendship but a 15 yr one.

ethnic October 24, 2010 at 4:57 am

Wow thats the first I heard of that. Id like to see some more evidence of that though.

Nathalie October 24, 2010 at 7:15 pm

Yeah, I’d like to know more about that too evidence wise. I was super surprised Michael might have some asian in him as I am chinese and it would have never occurred to me.

Nathalie October 27, 2010 at 8:31 pm

I just found an interivew Brian Oxman, Michael’s family attorney gave in 2006. There’s no video for it; just the script of what was said by who. It’s pretty long (the conversation) but the part where he talks about Michael’s ancestry (unconfirmed?):

SANDERS: Well, I`m not a geneticist, but I think that unless there are blue-eyed people within the first and second generation of Jackson`s immediate family, then it`s virtually impossible for him to have a biological child that has blue eyes.

GRACE: Brian?

OXMAN: Nancy, Michael has a very interesting history and background, where he is partially Chinese, about one-fourth Chinese. He is also one- fourth American Indian. So he has these genes in his background.

The link: http://lacienegasmiled.wordpress.com/category/1995-1999-debbie-rowe/

The interview is somewhere near the bottom of the page. If you can’t find it just search for “Brian Oxman, Jackson family attorney on Nancy Grace, 6th September 2006” on your internet browser under the “find” button.

Anonymous August 21, 2010 at 4:46 am

He has European blood because his father has blue eyes and that is a European trait. Also, both of his parents look mixed and it is VERY common to be mixed in America. Black Americans differ from Black Africans.

Umm June 25, 2011 at 3:22 am

You have got to be kidding me! You know nothing about Africa! There are TONS of mixed race people who have been in Africa for generations in Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa the mixed population is HUGE. They are called “colourds” and some refer to themselves as “goffals”.

Gavin October 10, 2011 at 12:27 am

I think you are confused about Africa! I am a Coloured in South Africa and I am not classified Black whereas as there are native Blacks who are guinely Black. The notion of mixed being Black does not fly with South Africans. Coloureds are an established people with their own culture and lifestyle. Here there is no such thing as a fair skinned Black if there is a mix you are not Black and that is it. The good thing here unlike American non-mixed Blacks the Blacks in African accept mixed people as different.

Here’s A Story On Joe Jackson Native American Ancestors:

The name Jackson was recieved by us from my great-grandfather on the part of the father, July Gale. Nobody called him July, everybody called him just Jack. Great-grandfather Jack was born in tribe Chostaw in the beginning of 19 centurie. He was an Indian shaman. And he was very much appreciated for abilities for doctoring. Also Jack in his youth worked as a scout in the USA army.

Then great-grandfather has fallen in love with the fine girl by name Gina. In 1838 they gave birth to their first son, a boy whom they have named Israel. Unfortunately in past was so, that if one of the child’s perants was a slave, the child also was considered a slave. Indian Jack was ” the free person “, but my great-grandmother unfortunately was a slave, that’s why Israel couldn’t hope for anything else, at least not yet.

When Israel has grown up, people have nicknamed him Nero. Nero, son of Jack, and eventually from this it has turned to Nero Jack-son.

As well as my great-grandfather, Nero was tall and light-skined, with high cheekbones and small sparkling eyes. And he was very proud of himself. Nero was still a boy when Jack started to transfer him his shaman knowledge. But despite of gift to doctoring and despite of his need for the tribe, to affliction of his parents, Nero has been sold to a plantation, to Louisiana. As well as other slaves, Nero had to eat there and then where it was told by the owners – kneeling before a low trough from which he scooped with a spoon. Soon Nero had enough of it and he ran away. The owner of a plantation immideately has sent people which searched all night long and have caught the fluent slave on the river, many miles away from the plantation. They have beaten Nero, up so bad, that he lost litres of his blood.

When some months later Nero has finally recovered, his owner wanted to sell him, but slaves which has previously escaped, were impossible to sell under the same high price, so instead of it owner of Nero has decided to force him to work as much as possible. My grandfather was tormented on crude cotton fields of the South, held down on hands and legs. Once fetters all the same have removed, and Nero has again dared to run away. This time the owner of a plantation himself has headed search group and has appointed the award to the one who will catch Nero. He was afraid, that other slaves will follow his example if he will not catch it him. And when he has really tracked down Nero, he has taken a heated chimney nipper and squeezed his nose with them until Nero has fallen without feelings. He has left my grandfather to lay on the ground because thought, that Nero was dead. But he was so strong, that has gone through also this awful punishment! But scars of the burn have remained with him up to the end of his days.

For the time, that Nero has lived on a plantation in Louisiana, he had 6 children born from his girlfriend. Later he married an Indian Chostaw – well, she was an Indian only on 3/4 – my grandmother Emmaline. Probably, his life with my grandmother was some kind of a refuge from awful working conditions, and those who has enthralled him, could only be jelous at harmonies of his marriage and home life. They did not need many money to be happy because they loved each other. Emmaline was from Louisiana, she has gone to her mother slightly yellowish color of a skin.

When the president Lincoln released slaves on May, 31, 1865 Nero’s situation got better. At last he could earn for a life adequately – selling the Indian medicines. With time he became famous because he has cured hundreds of people. His abilities of the sorcerer became widely known, and people came from far away so he’d he help them.
Grandfather Nero conducted a simple life and has saved so much money, that he and my grandmother could get a farm in Sunnyvale in Missisippy. He has paid with cach for 120 hectares of the fertile ground. There Nero and Emmaline had 15 children (and in general Nero had 21 children). My grandfather, grandmother and all their huge clan was fed from this ground where they planted corn, tomatoes, other vegetables, held chickens, pigs and cows. Nero then frequently wandered in the woods to collect grasses. From roots and other parts he made broth, spilled it in bottles and gave it to the patients to drink, he made also ointments of various wood grasses. With this things he treated Indians and former slaves, and they paid for it to him with what they could.

Nero also liked to sing and frequently executed old military dances of Chostaw. Once Saturday evening the sheriff and his people have blocked with ropes the street on which he danced, and have tried to arrest him for infringement of a public order, but Nero has felt danger. He has jumped on the horse, has elegantly jumped through an obstacle and has escaped. After that the sheriff has left him alone.

When children Nero and Emmaline have grown and have created their own families, he has invited the children of his younger brother William to his farm, among them was also my senior cousin Rufus. Rufus has somehow told to me, he should be given more attention to grasses with which the grandfather treated illnesses. But he then was still a child and as many children, did not think of as far as valuable can be knowledge of ancestors.

When Rufus was 4, Nero’s wife has died. In the meantime Nero too became old and weak, and since he could not look after the farm as earlier, he had to buy some things from one white man by the name Eroy. He spent the small amounts of money, but the Eroy very carefully conducted the accounts. Rufus was then still a child; the only thing, that he has noticed is that Nero becomes weaker. And it caused Nero to hand over to Eroy, for on storage some important papers so he could keep them for him. In the end eroy managed – the way Rufus and I have guessed later – to appropriate documents on owning of the farm, ostensibly as debt payments which Nero owned him.

That’s how our family has lost all rights on this fertile ground where hundreds peach and pear trees which my relatives carefully looked after, grew. When later Rufus and I have have found out, that there, under the ground were huge oil fields, we have simply lost gift of speech since the rent for the right of drilling already then made to 1,2 million dollars. Meanwhile the deposit should cost at least good 100 million. The last years of his life Nero lived on the farm alone, because William and Rufus have again left home. He has died in 1924, long before my birth. My father Samuel, lived back than in Arkansas where he has found work, he has found out about death of the father too late and couldn’t come to funeral. My uncle Sam has arrived from Oklahoma to participate in it, and other son of the grandfather, my uncle Esco too had come there. My father was Nero’s younger son. He had a twin sister Janey D. Hall.

My great-grandmother on the part of mother – Mattie Daniel. Mattie was born in 1864. Her mother, handicaped, was the daughter of the planter, father – the slave on a plantation of her father. Despite of protests of mother, Mattie has been sold to other family because the planter did not like that her father was black. When I was young, Mattie’s history set me thinking. If I had children, I thought, I would not lower eyes from them and wouldn’t allow anybody to take them away from me.
Anyway, Mattie never could enjoy a life of society, as her mother. As well as Nero, my great-grandfather on the part of mother was the slave collecting a cotton. Mattie was married 2 times and had 17 children. One of her daughters was my grandmother, another – my cousin grandmother Verna.

Nero was a respectable person due to doctoring abilities and also because at he owned a ground, that during this time was unusual to the former slave. As to business qualities, my father has gone to him, he too was respected, mainly for good education. Samuel studied 9 years in Alcorn College in Mississipi and when he was 24, he already were Bachelor and Master Degree, that on a boundary of centuries was a rarity for the young man from minority . After final examinations he has found out, that in Ashley Country, Arkansas, there’s an empty palce of a teacher. He walked there 200 km from Mississipi to participate in competition on this place, and has received it.

Earlier in a province, in initial and the higher school only one teacher taught. Professor Jackson as he was named, had 2 especially clever schoolgirls to whom he from the very beginning has paid attention – sisters King. One them them, Chrystal – bright individuality, with a dazzling smile and loud laughter. When she was 16 years, he married her. It was my mother.
In a small town where I lived, everybody loved my family. We spent our free time at home or in church and since Dad has been well educated, neighbours admired him. And we always had friends.

“In an early 20th Century USA cenus both Michael Jackson’s maternal and parental grandparents are listed as “Mulatto”. In Michael’s father Joesph Jackson’s autobiography he writes that he has Native American ancestry and a gt grandmother who was white, and a cripple who became pregnant by one of her fathers slaves, and that the mixed race daughter was sold off by her mother’s slave owner father because he didn’t approve of the relationship.”

wat do U expect, michael never really had a typical childhood and his father teased and abused him, everything was foreign to him besides wat he love to do his whole life, performing and doing music which he used his GOD-givin talents to help make the world a better place.theres was no doubt Michael was proud to be of african-american,he had vitiligo.and the thing with his nose, well somwhere said dat his dad used to tease about his nose being so big,dat he called it a potatoe nose(but M.J.’s father must of had bad eyesight,to think dat he was ugly)(make sure to tell your kids dat they are beautiful,so they wont be so damaged deeply),and i truly beleive Michael was innocent, watch “Gone Too Soon”(on TV Guide)the father of the child who accussed poor innocent Michael, said dat he wanted to try to ruin Michael’s life for good, doing wat ever he could(so he probably forced his child to say those awful lies).and Michael was proven not guilty(innocent)of all charges, there was no proven evidence dat Michael did all those accussed things B-CUZ he is as innocent as it gets!,the people dat beleived it, is so !GULLABLE!,do not beleive everything the stinken media says,Michael’s life was damaged forever,& the media was part of the reason.but Michael’s legacy(his legacy is his music & all of his greatness) lives on always & forever nonstop.and i pray everyday dat he is truly in happiness, and may you rest in Peace,Paradise & Harmony MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON(we LOVE & MISS you so much!truely an Angel) R.I.P. & screw the media!

Look at pictures of various African peoples on the continent of Africa & you’ll see many who have ‘high cheekbones’. That’s not an exclusive native american trait. I’ve even seen it among ‘continental’ Europeans.

michael jackson is not being honest about his cultural background if you really wanna know he is african american part german and part jamaican thats the truth

mjfan December 13, 2009 at 10:14 am

Long ago I read that MJ was partly of American Indian descent. His high cheekbones certainly make it likely that that’s true. Also, his skin color never was very dark so an educated guess is that there’s also Caucasian somewhere along the way. And of course he was proud of his African American heritage. Like most of us 3rd-, 4th-generation Americans, etc., he’s an example of our country’s huge “melting pot” results.

Elisabeta October 21, 2009 at 8:53 am

Michael was a proud black person, no question. (Otherwise he wouldn’t have adored James Brown, Little Richard, Diana Ross etc…)
He once said that he doesnt want to be called “American” because he doesnt see himself as a part of only one nation, but as a part of the world.
