Margaret Cho is an American stand-up comedian, actress, fashion designer, author, singer, and songwriter. She starred in the television series All-American Girl.

Her parents, Young-Hie Chun and Seung-Hoon Cho, were born in Korea. They ran Paperback Traffic, a bookstore on Polk Street at California Street. Her father wrote joke books and a newspaper column. Her grandfather was a Christian minister.

Margaret’s paternal grandfather was named Myung Sook Cho.

Margaret’s paternal grandmother was named Im Soon Lee.

Margaret’s maternal grandfather was named Chun Jin-Han. One of her maternal great-grandmothers was Lee Jung Hie.

During Margaret’s appearance on the series Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr., 2012, DNA testing suggested that she likely has remote Chinese ancestry.
