Alison Pill is a Canadian actress. Her father is from Estonia. Alison is married to American actor and filmmaker Joshua Leonard, with whom she has a daughter.

Alison’s paternal grandfather was Kaljo Pill (the son of Jaan Pill and Helmi Pauline Kruus). Jaan was born in Tartu, the son of Kaarel Pil/Pill and Anna Marie Kuslap. Helmi was born in Kuressaare, the daughter of August Oskar Kruus and Rosalie Marie Alwine Hawik.

Alison’s paternal grandmother was Constancia/Tanni Grünthal (the daughter of Timofei/Timotheus Grünthal and Vera Poska). Timofei was born in Rässa Saunametsa, the son of Ivan/Jaan Grünthal-Ridala and Kristina/Riste Ausmees. Vera was born in Tallinn, the daughter of Jaan Poska and Constance Ernestina Ekström; Constance was of Swedish ancestry.

Alison’s maternal grandfather was Stephen Theodore Topolie/Toplonicki (the son of Wasyl/William John Topolie/Topolnickij and Jessie Olesia Cycyj). Stephen was born in Manitoba, to Ukrainian parents.

Alison’s maternal grandmother was Stella U. Fillar (the daughter of Anthony “Tony” Filar and Anna Kleja Luberda). Stella’s parents were Polish.

    Alison’s maternal grandmother was Stella U. Fillar.

    Stella was either Polish or Ukrainian. I’m not sure.

    She is also 1/16 Swedish. Her great-great-grandparents were Jaan Poska and Constance Ekström. Jaan was Estonian. Constance was of Swedish ancestry.
