Zoran Milanović is a Croatian politician. He has served as the 5th President of Croatia, since 19 February, 2020. He was previously the 10th Prime Minister of Croatia, from 23 December, 2011 to 22 January, 2016. He has also been President of the Social Democratic Party, from 2 June, 2007 to 26 November, 2016, and Leader of the Opposition, from 2 June, 2007 to 23 December, 2011, and again, from 22 January, 2016 to 26 November, 2016.

His father, Stipe Milanović, was an economist. His mother, Đurđica “Gina” (Matasić), was a teacher of English and German. President Milanović is married to Sanja Musić, with whom he has two children.

President Milanović’s patrilineal ancestry can be traced back to his third great-grandfather, Nikola Milanović.

President Milanović’s paternal grandfather was named Ante Milanović (the son of Nikola Milanović). Ante was born in Glavice, Sinj, Split-Dalmatia. Nikola was the son of Ante Milanović and Manda Čarić.

President Milanović’s maternal grandfather was named Stjepan Matasić. Stjepan was born in Gradište, Vukovar-Srijem.

President Milanović’s maternal grandmother was named Marija Glavaš. Marija was born in Krasno, Senj, Lika-Senj.
