“Margaret was the daughter of Dempsey Bailey and Rachel Malinda Stanley, or of Thomas Hall and Ruth Casto.”
Ruth was Jane Batson’s mother, so this appears to be a mixup. Margaret’s parents were definitely Dempsey and Rachel.
