Vera Fischer is a Brazilian actress. She was crowned Miss Brasil in 1969, and was a semifinalist at Miss Universe 1969. Her roles include the film A Superfêmea and the telenovelas O Clone and Laços de Família.

Vera was born in Blumenau, Santa Catarina, the daughter of Hildegard and Emil Fischer. She was raised Protestant (Lutheran) and spoke German as a first language. She learned Portuguese at school. Her father was originally from Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and moved to Blumenau in the 1930s. Her mother was born in Brazil, of German descent. Vera’s parents are pictured here.

She has a daughter with her former husband, film director and actor Perry Salles; and a son with her former husband, actor Felipe Camargo.

Vera’s paternal grandfather was Leonhardt Karl Fischer (the son of Georg Leonhard Fischer and Caroline Christine Wieland). Leonhardt was born in Gailsbach, Mainhardt, Germany. Georg was born in Gailsbach, the son of Georg Leonard Fischer and Anna Magdalena Ungerer. Caroline was also born in Gailsbach, the daughter of Johann Friedrich Wieland and Elisabeth Christina Graf.

Vera’s paternal grandmother was Karoline Rosina Kugler (the daughter of Jacob Michael Kugler and Rosine Meissner). Karoline was born in Murrhardt, Germany. Jacob was the son of Ludwig Kugler and Katharine Eisenmann. Rosine was the daughter of Gottlieb Meissner and Elisabeth Schoenleber.

Vera’s maternal grandfather was Ernst “Ernani” Berndt (the son of Carl Berndt and Anna Uecker). Ernst was born in Santa Catarina, to German parents. Carl was born in Neustettin, Germany, now Szczecinek, Poland, the son of Johann Berndt and Albertine Hennig. Anna was the daughter of Johann Wilhelm Ferdinand Ücker and Wilhelmine Henriette Caroline Leitzke.

Vera’s maternal grandmother was named Rosalia “Rosa” Harbo/Herbo (the daughter of Marcus Harbo/Herbo and Bertha). Rosalia was born in Santa Catarina, to German parents.
