T-Pain is the son of Aliyah Diane and Shaheed Mutee Najm, who founded the 1the Homeboyz to Men program. He was born into a Muslim family. In 2012, he said that he does not affiliate himself with any particular religion.

He is married to Amber Wyatt/Najm, with whom he has three children.
