Svala is an Icelandic singer and songwriter. She represented Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.

Svala is the daughter of singer-songwriter Björgvin Halldórsson and Ragnheiður Björk Reynisdóttir.

Svala’s patrilineal ancestry can be traced back to her third great-grandfather, Magnús Jónsson.

Svala’s paternal grandfather was Halldór Baldvinsson (the son of Baldvin Halldórsson and Helga Jónsdóttir). Baldvin was the son of Halldór Þórður Magnússon and Guðrún Baldvinsdóttir. Helga was the daughter of Jón Jónsson and Jóhanna Arnbjörnsdóttir.
