Roh Moo-hyun was a South Korean politician and lawyer. He served as the 9th President of South Korea, from 25 February, 2003 to 24 February, 2008 (suspended from 12 March, 2004 to 14 May, 2004). He was also a member of the National Assembly, from 30 May, 1988 to 29 May, 1992, and again, from 22 July, 1998 to 29 May, 2000, and Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, from 7 August, 2000 to 25 March, 2001.

He was the son of Lee Sun-rye and Roh Pan-seok. His ancestor was in Dongyang, Zhejiang, China. President Roh was married to Kwon Yang-sook, until his death, with whom he had two children.

President Roh’s paternal grandfather was Roh Hak-yong (the son of Roh Sang-ho and Lady Koo). Hak-yong was born in Hapcheon County, South Gyeongsang. Sang-ho was the son of Roh Eung-ho and Lady Kim. Lady Koo was the daughter of Koo Hoo-moon.

President Roh’s paternal grandmother was Lady Ahn (the daughter of Ahn Byung-seok).

President Roh’s maternal grandfather was named Lee Kyung-jung.
