Robin Weigert is an American television and film actress. Her roles include the shows Deadwood and Sons of Anarchy and the films Concussion and Smile.

She was born in Washington, D.C., the daughter of Dionne, a pianist, and Wolfgang Oscar Weigert, a psychiatrist. Her father was born in Berlin, Germany, to a Jewish father and a mother of Protestant background. He moved with his parents to Maryland, U.S., at the age of six. Robin’s mother is American-born, of Polish Jewish, Russian Jewish, and German Jewish descent.

Robin’s paternal grandfather was named Oscar Weigert. Oscar was born in Berlin, Germany, to a German Jewish family.

Robin’s paternal grandmother was Edith Vowinckel (the daughter of Emanuel “Eduard” Gottfried Vowinckel and Agnes Augusta Hedwig “Auguste” Pieper). Edith was born in Düsseldorf, Germany, and her ancestors were Germans/Prussians of Protestant background. Emanuel was the son of Johann Wilheim Vowinckel and Carolina “Caroline” Fudickar. Agnes was the daughter of Abraham “Albert” Pieper and Johanna Frederika “Friederike” Wüsthoff.
