Raphael Bob-Waksberg is an American comedian, writer, producer, actor, and voice actor. He is the creator and showrunner of animated show BoJack Horseman, and the co-creator of animated show Undone. He has written for both shows, as well as for Tuca & Bertie, and had voice roles on all of them.
His father, David Waksberg, was CEO of religious education center Jewish LearningWorks, and helped Russian-speaking Jews emigrate to the U.S. His mother and grandmother ran a Judaica gift and book store, Bob & Bob Fine Jewish Gifts and Books.
Raphael’s paternal grandfather was Irving Waksberg (the son of Harry “Herschel/Tzvi” Waksberg and Chana/Anna Kalichstein). Irving was born in New York. Harry was born in Poland, the son of Mendel Waksberg and Feigel Urbach. Chana was born in Kielce, Poland, the daughter of Moshe “Moishe” Kalichstein and a woman surnamed Rappaport.
