Pete Rose is an American professional baseball player and manager. He played with the Cincinnati Reds, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Montreal Expos of Major League Baseball (MLB), and coached the Cincinnati Reds. He is nicknamed “Charlie Hustle.”

Pete is the son of LaVerne and Harry Francis Rose. He has five children, two, including professional baseball player and manager Pete Rose, Jr., with his former wife Karolyn Englehardt; and two with his former wife Carol J. Woliung.

Pete’s paternal granfather was Otta Rose (the son of John William Rose and Nora Alice Badgley). Otta was born in Ohio. John was the son of Nathaniel Green Rose and Susan Marie Cameron. Nora was the daughter of George Washington Badgley and Mary E. Day.

Pete’s paternal grandmother was Eva Kathryn Smart (the daughter of William Smart and Mary Mitchell). William was the son of Charles Smart and Matilda Fields.

Pete’s maternal grandfather was Edward Henry Bloebaum (the son of Charles Bloebaum and Catharine Dorothea Wachendorf). Edward was born in Ohio. Charles was German. Catharine had German ancestry.

Pete’s maternal grandmother was Annie Laura Fox (the daughter of Zachariah Taylor Fox and Angeline Davis). Annie was born in Kentucky. Zachariah was the son of Peter Fox and Susan Bills.
