Ne-Yo is an American R&B singer, songwriter, actor, dancer, and record producer. He is also known as Gogo.

Ne-Yo is the son of Loraine and Wiley L. Smith, who were musicians. His parents are both black. He was raised partly in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is married to Crystal Renay Williams. Ne-Yo has seven children, including two with his former partner Monyetta Shaw; and three with Crystal.

A 23andMe DNA test whose results Ne-Yo displayed on his Twitter page stated that his genetic ancestry is:

*88.4% Sub-Saharan African
——–*87.3% West African
——–*0.8% Broadly Sub-Saharan African

Ne-Yo’s maternal grandfather’s surname is Parham. Ne-Yo’s grandfather’s brother, Bobby Parham, is a member of the band The Dramatic Force.

Ne-Yo’s maternal grandmother was named Rosie M.

i donĀ“t know, he could have lied to appear more “exotic” you know ? But i don’t reject the fact that he’s part chinese, but his mother (supposed to be blasian) look less asian than him

Physical traits could have skipped a generation, you know? My sister(she’s my half-sister, but we grew up with the same father raising us, and we’re really close) is of African-American and Native American descent. However on the Native side, she had one great grandparent who was a red-headed white woman. When my sis was born, her parents thought she looked like a Native with tightly curled dark brown hair and a bit darker skin, but they wondered why her hair wasn’t jet black like theirs. As she got older, her Native traits started to sort of fade. And now, she looks like she’s 1/4 Black, 1/4 Native, and Whalf White, with the white genes being a bit stronger than the others. Her hair is wavy and reddish brown, her skin is olive, her eyes are medium brown, but she still has a mixture of Native and Black facial features.

Yeh I dont see any reason for him to lie about it. I dont know does having Chinese heritage add to his appeal? It might do for some.
