Najib Mikati is a Lebanese politician and businessperson. He has been Prime Minister of Lebanon, since 10 September, 2021; and, previously, from 19 April, 2005 to 19 July, 2005, and again, from 13 June, 2011 to 15 February, 2014. His cabinet has assumed the power of the presidency in Lebanon. He has also been Minister of Public Works and Transport, from 6 December, 1998 to 26 October, 2004. A billionaire, he is the richest man in Lebanon. He made his fortune operating telecom companies in Syria and Lebanon.

Najib is from a Sunni Muslim family. His brother is billionaire businessperson Taha Mikati, with whom he founded investment group M1 Group. His nephew, Taha’s son, Azmi Mikati, heads M1. Najib is married to May.
