Moses Malone was an American professional basketball player. He played in the American Basketball Association (ABA) and the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was nicknamed “Chairman of the Boards.”

Moses was the son of Mary Ellen Elizabeth (Hudgins) and Moses Eugene Malone. He had two children with his former wife Alfreda Gill, and a son with his partner Leah Nash.

Moses’ paternal grandfather was James Luther Malone (the son of James Malone and Mittie Person). Moses’ great-grandfather James was the son of Hubbard Malone and Fortune Gillis.

Moses’ paternal grandmother was named Maggie Banks (the daughter of Thomas Banks).
