Oddly, Miranda did not mention her one eighth Mexican ancestry. Miranda’s maternal grandfather’s mother, Mary Castimello/Costano/Coseton, was born in Mexico, as were Mary’s parents. The spelling of Mary’s surname varies from record to record.

A picture of Miranda with her mother can be seen here.

A picture of Miranda’s paternal grandmother can be seen here.

Miranda’s maternal grandfather was William Frank Casey (the son of William John Casey and Mary Cecilia Castimello/Costano/Coseton). Miranda’s grandfather William was born in California. Miranda’s great-grandfather William was Irish, born in Brosna, County Kerry. Miranda’s great-grandmother Mary was Mexican, born in Juárez, Chihuahua. Miranda’s maternal grandmother was Lois Ann Core (the daughter of Robert Herman Core and Ida Marie Bishir/Bishop). Lois was born in Oklahoma. Robert was the son of John W. Core and Birdie Harrell. She dont look Armenian… but if she was it would be so great!!

  2. Heikki says:

It honestly looks like she’s none of the ones listed.

Maybe Armenian and Italian, but I can’t see the other ones :I

  3. Jo says:

I cant believe people have suggested she’s of Asian or Latina descent! she looks like neither AT ALL!!

  4. RJ says:

you dickwads are confusing nationality with ethnicity

    • DL says:

You’re a shitfuck because you just pissed me off with that stupid comment. I just come here to read about her ethnicity, I haven’t seen anybody confusing the two.

  5. Kyle says:

She is CLEARLY Armenian…look at her face! Those facial structures look more Middle Eastern to me than Asian (which is such a broad category anyway)…

Besides, like people have said below, many Russians are actually Asian or have Asian ancestry…considering parts of Russia are actually on the continent of Asia.

My father is Italian (also Scottish and very little Irish) and he has dark hair and olive skin. During the summer, he gets so dark (no joke!) that he looks either mixed African-American or Middle Eastern! But would you all say the same thing about him if you saw him and he told you he was White? Within races, there is a lot of phenotypic diversity…take a course in genetics, biology, history, or sociology and you’ll see that.

All I know is, who cares?! If she says that she’s White, then she’s White. Why lie about things like that today?

    • Kyle says:

I think she would know better than any of US.

      • Kyle says:

And my entire statement about her being Armenian is really just my opinion…it’s just that she has a similar look to the Kardashians, for example, who are Armenian.

        • NONO says:

Hey dude. Kardashians = Turkish k:)

          • Aly says:

I’m sorry but you are very wrong. Kardashians are Armenian. There father, Robert Kardashian was Armenian. If you don’t believe you can google it, or you can just look at here ethnicity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Kardashian

          • Hendrick says:

The Kardashians are half Armenian from their dad’s side, and Dutch and Scottish on their mother’s side, but they look more Armenian to me probably because their father is Armenian and I’ve noticed the father usually determines how the child will look.

          • Fuzzybear says:

            To Hendrick

your words(father usually determines how the child will look.)
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.I say this because,I’m a guy and yet facially I favor my mother, while skin color leans towards my father

          • Richard Fiorello says:

looks of a child are actually by both parents, not one or the other. That is why people are being confused about other people being white, black, asian, arab, mullato, berber, Venezuelan, Italian, or such such! It is like me, I am white, but I don’t look like it at all. Even, some people that went to school with me started spreading rumors that I am not white in my college, but I am and those some-people never grew up with me and even asked what I am really!

        • sillau says:

i was kind of thinking that too,she does kind of have of similar look to the kardashians, cuz there some pics of miranda where it kind of look like kim,but yeah

    • Hendrick says:

You Americans don’t even know how Middle Easterners look or what it even is. You probably think Indians are Arabs and Pakis and Arabs are Indians because you’re stupid. So for you to make a comment like oh she looks more middle eastern than Asian makes no sense to me. She looks Eurasian, half white, half Asian. How in the world does she look Middle eastern from any angle to you? I honestly think they got her ethnicity wrong here.

      • Kyle says:

Uh, does ANYONE know exactly what any one single race looks like? This is exactly my point. There are broad stereotypical features that are placed in certain “ethnic” groups, and these are what most people base their thoughts about someone’s race when speaking of purely phenotypic expression. A lot of them are shared, and a lot of people don’t fit into these categories. Remember, race is a SOCIAL CONSTRUCT (something I learned in grade school, but in depth at the Ivy League University I graduated from. Yes, I’m just another stupid American…*sigh*).

I like that*you* lump all Americans into the “stupid” category, when you’re saying that we all lump ME’s/Asians into the same category. Maybe follow your OWN advice? There is a clear difference between an Arab and an Indian (firstly, considering the physical distance between them).

How would you know about what I know, or who I know? Where did I say anything about the difference between Indians and Middle Easterners? We’re not talking about specifics here, sheesh, we’re talking about physical features and the differing definitions of racial and social terms as evidenced in the world.

America is full of ethnic groups from all places. My best friend growing up is half Korean. My significant other is Singaporean Chinese. My best friends are Native American (and one is of half Jewish descent). I work with a woman from India, several people from all over Ukraine and Russia, and many other countries. I have also traveled to Costa Rica for research, and Europe for extended times. I have dated people of all races, backgrounds, cultures, etc, so excuse me for basing my thoughts about this topic on my experience with the people I have met in my life time.

I’m now using the broad definition of “Asian” to mean any ethno-group on the continent of Asia, which would include Indians. Thus, Indians are “Asian”. My brother’s girlfriend is half Lebanese, which means she is half Asian (Americans seems to favor the word to only describe East Asian peoples, but that is technically wrong, or rather, not complete). Thus, when I said “she looks more ME than Asian” I simply meant to say “EAST Asian” considering that is one of the ethnic groups that popped up into conversation. And to me, she certainly looks more Western Asian (to be more specific, Eurasian, and even more specific, Armenian) than Eastern Asian.

Does THAT clear it up for you?

        • Kyle says:

All I am trying to say is, she looks more Western Asian (parts of the Middle East and Eurasia) than Eastern Asian. The debate over whether Armenian is considered Caucasian, Eurasian, Asian, or Middle Eastern is apparent (depending on whether you’re discussing the language, the culture, the people, their ancestors, etc). Rather than create a debate about that, for the sake of making it simpler, I referred to Armenians as “Eurasian.”

She does look Caucasian to me (European features), but I don’t really “see” Latin/Hispanic or East Asian. I do completely believe that she is Armenian, as well. Dark hair, olive-y skin tone, almond shaped eyes, etc seem to be popular in Armenians (and obviously others).

In the end, it’s really her business. I just got in on the discussion to see what others thought about the discrepancies between social/racial definitions and terms…

    • Pippi says:

dont know why you got thumbed down
appearently people here think its wrong to be ”just white”
being mixed doesnt make you a better person or more attractive.
      Im mixed..
I actually thought she was half filipino half white.
but all you narrow minded people dont realise that european come in all shapes sizes and color go to eastern europe(the slavs)
