Mike Moore was a New Zealand politician, union organiser, and author. He served as Prime Minister of New Zealand, from 4 September, 1990 to 2 November, 1990. He was also Minister of Foreign Affairs, from 9 February, 1990 to 2 November, 1990, Leader of the New Zealand Labour Party, from 4 September, 1990 to 1 December, 1993, and Leader of the Opposition, from 2 November, 1990 to 1 December, 1993, among many other duties.
Mike was the son of Audrey Evelyn (Goodall) and Allan George Moore. He was married to Yvonne Dereany, until his death. Yvonne was a teacher, and a presenter of the children’s television show Romper Room.
Mike’s paternal grandfather was named Frederick George Moore.
Mike’s paternal grandmother was Hilda May Johnston (the daughter of Martin Joseph Johnston and Elizabeth Traverron).
Mike’s maternal grandfather was Kenneth Bryn Goodall (the son of Samuel Goodall and Mary Elizabeth Hutchinson). Kenneth was born in Greymouth, Grey District, West Coast, New Zealand. Samuel was English, the son of William Goodall and Charlotte Smith.
Mike’s maternal grandmother was Caroline Grace Macmahon (the daughter of George McMahon/Macmahon and Caroline Elizabeth Hill).
