Matt Manfredi is an American screenwriter, producer, and director. He has co-written the films Crazy/Beautiful, Æon Flux, Clash of the Titans (2010), R.I.P.D., Ride Along, The Invitation (2015), Ride Along 2, and Destroyer (2018), all with his professional partner Phil Hay. Also with Phil, he co-directed the film Bug (2002); and co-created the show The Mysterious Benedict Society, which the two also wrote for. He wrote Bug alone.

He has two children.

Matt’s paternal grandfather was Giorgio Giuseppe “George Joseph” Manfredi (the son of Antonio “Anthony” Manfredi and Rosina/Rosa “Rose” Rossi). George was born in New York, to Italian parents.

Matt’s paternal grandmother was Meta/Mamie D. Knab (the daughter of August F. Knab/Knapp and Catherine/Katherine H. “Katie” Stoever). Meta was born in New Jersey. August was born in Germany. Catherine was born in New Jersey, to a German father and a mother from New Jersey.

Matt’s maternal grandfather was Richard Charles Nickerson (the son of Herbert Doane Nickerson and Hattie Sparrow Charles). Richard was born in Massachusetts. Herbert was born in Rhode Island, the son of Herbert Doane Nickerson and Caroline Bangs Drew. Hattie was born in Massachusetts, the daughter of James Henry Charles and Lizzie Freeman Hurd.

Matt’s maternal grandmother was Audrey Holmes (the daughter of Byron Francis Holmes and Ruella Francis Crowell). Audrey was born in Massachusetts. Byron was born in Massachusetts, the son of Theodore Francis Holmes and Ruth Smith Atwood. Ruella was born in Massachusetts, the daughter of John Burns Crowell and Hannah M. Snell.
