Marshall Faulk is an American professional football player. A running back, he played for the Indianapolis Colts and the St. Louis Rams of the National Football League (NFL). Regarded as one of the greatest running backs, he was named the Most Valuable Player of the NFL in 2000, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2017. He was later an NFL analyst.
Marshall is the son of Cecile and Roosevelt Faulk. His cousin is professional football player Kevin Faulk, also a running back. He has six children, including three with his former wife Lindsay Stoudt. His son, Marshall, Jr., played college football.
Marshall’s maternal grandfather was Ebenezer Hurst, Jr. (the son of Ebenezer Hurst and Alexandrine Toval). Marshall’s great-grandfather Ebenezer was born in Louisiana, the son of Victor Hurst and Roseline Lena Winston. Alexandrine was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Joseph Toval, Jr. and Odelia Mártinoli.
Marshall’s maternal grandmother was named Geneva Horton. Geneva was from Louisiana.
