His father is of Filipino descent. His mother is mostly of English, Scottish, Irish, and German ancestry. He is also sometimes said to be of Native Hawaiian, Italian, Spanish, and Native American descent. It is not clear whether these ancestries have been verified/documented.

Marcus has stated:

My dad has Filipino, Spanish. He’s from Hawaii. My mom’s white, I would say mainly Irish.

Lauro was born in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines. Cecilia was born in Hawaii, the daughter of Adolph Galasa and Mary Decambra, who likely were also ethnic Filipinos.

Marcus’ paternal grandmother was Felicidad Godines Faye Apostadero/Apostadiro (the daughter of Crispolo/Crispulo Apostadero and Concepción “Conception” Quirante Godines/Godinez). Felicidad was born in Hawaii, to Filipino parents, who were from Moalboal and Dumanjug, in the province of Cebu, respectively. Concepción was the daughter of Pio Bergado Godines/Godinez and Dorotea Gimaguin Quirante.

Marcus’ maternal grandfather was Billy Henry Wagoner (the son of James Howard Wagoner and Leva Lockie Street). Billy was born in North Carolina. James was born in Tennessee, the son of Henry Calvin Wagoner and Rebeca Etta Garland. Leva was born in North Carolina, the daughter of Caroline.
