Lior Raz is an Israeli actor and screenwriter. He was born in Ma’ale Adumim, an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, to an Iraqi Jewish father, Eli Raz, and an Algerian Jewish mother, Mazal (Partush). He was raised in Ma’ale Adumim, and in Jerusalem. He is married to actress Meital Barda, with whom he has four children. He was raised partly speaking Arabic.
Lior’s paternal grandfather was Yaakov Mualem (born Ivri, the son of Eliya Ivri and Haviva Halatchi). Haviva was the daughter of David Halatchi.
Lior’s paternal grandmother is the daughter of Binyamin Ivri and Miryam. Binyamin was the son of David Ivri and Hatun.

His mother is Algerian Jewish, so yeah, that’s probably true. Apparently he thought growing up that his family was Ashkenazi. Though obviously this isn’t true.
