whats the problem with italians with fair features, i’ll never know. i’m italian, i live near naples. i have pale skin, brown eyes but dirty blond hair. and by dirty blond i mean dark blond with red features. my mom is from naples too and she’s blonde, with blue eyes and pale skin; my father has a olive skin, black hair and green eyes; my granny is light blonde, has green eyes and pale skin while my grand father has pale skin but brown eyes and black hair. see? people with fair features are very common here since ALWAYS. americans built stereotypes on italian immigrants that mainly came from southern regions like sicily and campania too. and yes, sicilians had a predominant arab domination in comparison with the rest of italy so they can look darker. but had a more dominant norman domination too so you can find blond people as well. i went in sicily a few years ago and well, i met sicilian people with very dark features but people with scandinavian features too. anyways back to these american stereotypes, if you do your research you can see that they aren’t the same in brazil or argentina where they have a higher percentage of italian immigrants than the US and they mostly come from veneto. veneto is in nothern italy and light features are more common than the dark ones and i’m talking about native nothern italian people. in fact its a common belief in those latin american countries that italians have fair features. so at the end, italy had many dominations in the past so you can easily understand that we are mixed. and its ridicolous that in the 21st century these stereotypes are still alive. lindsay sure looks more irish than italian. but you’ll be surprised to see that there are many italians with similar features. google some of them : Chiara Ferragni (fashion blogger), Veronica Olivier (model), Patty Pravo (70’s singer), Monica Vitti (actress), Bianca Balti (model) i can go forever. thanks for the attention.

People should stop to be so ignorant and start travelling, unfortunatelly Hollywood gave this idea that all the italians are dark ( it wouldn’t be anything wrong with that if it was true) but its not true at all, italians are white europeans and as so they can have all the colour of hair and eyes, and unlike many ignorant things, not only in northen Italy, but in the south too. I am from Sicily, very pale with freckles (unfortunatelly i get burned very easily) and when i was in school there was always some kid with ginger hair or blond ( of course not as many as in some northen european country) . Especially in Sicily the normand domination left a track.

Not true “at all”? Of course it’s true “at all.” There are certainly fairskinned and fairhaired people in Italy, but they tend of be darker on average than, say, Scandinavians.

      • Reno says:

Scandinavians aren’t as fair as you assume. And fair Southern Europeans are seen as fair in Scandinavia too. Do you honestly think most Scandinavians are light blonds with pink skin? lol..

        • mm says:

Scandinavians and Baltic countries (North-Eastern Slavic countries) do have the highest percentage of blonds, although not ALL of them are blond. Finland has the highest percentage with over 80% of the population. In terms of skin color, they really aren’t very pale though. The sun shines ALL DAY during the summer, it will be bright at 10pm, but NOT AT ALL during winter. Most of them actually look somewhat tan. Scientific studies show Irish people have the palest skin in the world, which makes sense cause it’s cloudy all year.

    • Zendaya J. says:

Not alll Italians are dark. my friend she is an italian, well half, and she is whole white, when italians are like half American and half italian or any half other things, their color skin is white, but sometimes when their a 100% Italian, then their skin is brown, some Italians are 100% Italians and their born from another country, the sun or the cold will change or can change their body color.

      • 12 says:

I’m from Europe .. central/Eastern Europe and have been to Italy many time. Italians ARE NOT BROWN EVER… maybe some are a light brown when they tan but definitely not naturally, I have never seen an Italian who was not white. I don’t think many Americans have a clue what Europeans look like. In central and eastern Europe there are many people who are quite dark and even in the British Isles .. it’s not just people in southern Europe.. but they are all white in the end of the day. Remember most Europeans tan well.. at least continental Europeans so you can’t judge someones actual skin colour on their tan!

In reference to Lindsay’s red hair. Apparently in some recent genetic studies the Irish have the highest incidence of red hair or more Irish carry the genes for red hair.
