Lauren Tsai is an American illustrator, model, and actress.

Her uncle is restaurateur, television personality, celebrity chef, and professional squash player Ming Tsai. Her father’s ancestors left Taiwan after escaping China during the Cultural Revolution.

Lauren was partly raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She also spent some time in Hiroshima, and learned to speak Japanese.

Lauren’s paternal grandfather is named Stephen W. Tsai.

Lauren’s paternal grandmother is named Iris. Iris is a restaurateur. One of Lauren’s great-grandfathers is Chinese composer Lee Pao-Chen.

Lauren’s maternal grandfather was John David Milkowski (the son of Frank Albert Milkowski and Ethel Muraro). John was born in Maryland. Frank was born in Mississippi, to parents from Poland, Wojciech Milkowski and Catherine/Katherine Iwaniec/Evaniec. Ethel was born in Italy, the daughter of John Muraro and Mary.
