Kelly Hu is an American actress, fashion model, beauty queen, and poker player. She was Miss Teen USA 1985 and Miss Hawaii USA 1993. She has starred in the films Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, The Scorpion King, Cradle 2 the Grave, X2: X-Men United, The Tournament (2009), and White Frog, and on the series Sunset Beach, Nash Bridges, The Vampire Diaries, Arrow, and, in voice role, Phineas and Ferb, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure.

She is the daughter of Juanita and Herbert Soy Hong Hu. Kelly is of Chinese, and smaller amounts of Hawaiian and English, descent.

Kelly’s paternal grandfather was named York Hon Hu. York was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Kelly’s paternal grandmother was named Kam Ann Chang. Kam was Chinese.

Kelly’s maternal grandfather was named Tom Po Tong (or Po Tong Tom in Western order). Tom was born on Maui.

Kelly’s maternal grandmother was Lily Kam Yuen Lum (the daughter of Lum Tung/Tung Lum and Mary Ah Lan Chang). Tung was born in China. Mary was born in Hawaii, the daughter of Ah Tong Ako Chang, from China, and of Kaleiho’opio Kellett. Kelly’s great-great-grandmother Kaleiho’opio was the daughter of Richard Thomas/Tom Kellett, who was of half English and half Native Hawaiian descent, and of Kauia/Kaiuaa.
