Jonathan Jakubowicz is a Venezuelan filmmaker and writer. He directed Hands of Stone and the Holocaust film Resistance (2020). For the latter, he won the German Film Peace Prize, and a spot on Algemeiner’s “100 people who most positively influenced Jewish life in 2020.”
He was born in Venezuela, to Ashkenazi Jewish parents, and grew up with Holocaust survivors on both sides of his family.
