    Correction irish is white,white means of irish,scottish,english,german,french,italian,dutch and/or swedish,swiss,etc

    • dana says:

white is anything of northern european origination. those with germanic genes in say italian from incursion by northerners many many many years ago and were subsequently rulers have either lighter or white skin or the skull shape of northerners. even the king of spain, another place where northerners moved to and then ruled has the height and skull shape of a northerner. all of the grops mentioned above are germanic except italian, which as stated above can have germanic genes infused therein

i love how people like you have a twisted knowledge of history of genes. i wonder if you read that somewhere, or if you invented it all by yourself. let me explain you a couple things i studied in history classes.
in the Ancient times Northern Italians were Celtic, Center Italians were Etruscans, Southern italians were Greeks. the only dark features were found in the Etruscan people. its believed they came from Middle East but they fastly mixed with the native peoples. and according to recent studies on genes, even though we had many other dominations through the centuries, those are the strongest ethnicities in Italians’ blood. so that makes us 100% white. Having white skin but brown hair and eyes, or getting used to be tanned cause of the sunny weather its a totally different thing.
the dark italian features you heard about in the typical American and Northern European stereotypes aren’t actually false. most of italian immigrants came from Sicily and deep Southern areas of the country: Arabs ruled Sicily for long times and settled on the Tyrrenian coasts of the southern paeninsula but they haven’t left any strong sign in people of Campania, Lucania, Calabria and Apulia coasts like they had in Sicily. so thats where those dark features come from. but its a very singular fact that in Sicily you can find the fairest features of Southern Italy too cause they were ruled by Normans as well. that’s probably one of the most interesting things of Sicily. so if you travel to Sicily you’ll find people with very dark features, but people with Scandinavian features as well.
about Germans they invaded all Italy but mostly settled in the Northern-Center areas mixing with the native italo-celtic populations. they settled in the intern zones of South too (Campania/Lucania) in particular the Longobards, of Scandinavian origin but lived for many centuries in the current Hungary.
being italian is a nationality, ’cause if you see it from a genetic point of view you can see that every zone has its own mix of ethnies.
i hope next time you’re going to say something about italians being not white you’ll think twice. ciao.

Uhm…my family is Irish, but I am African-American.

    • dana says:

the only way you could be irish is if an irish family moved to africa and then moved to the usa. blacks would not be irish. they are african. many many blacks have irish surnames, but that is because they did not keep their african names, but took the names of their owners.

      • Robert says:

Adoption, that is how a person could be one thing while their family is something else.

Also, the names would have been forced on non free individuals from Africa (just as everything else was during that tragic period of history.)

a lot of irish people have dark hair and dark eyes just not dark or olive skin tones . my dad has been to ireland and he said that red hair isnt really common there. he said most people had dark or brown hair. blue eyes eyes are really common there. since jimmy skin tone is darker he probably is mixed with another ethnicity but just identifies with his irish side. his last name is definatly irish though .

  4. Malika says:

Jimmy Fallon always looked mixed with something other than white. He looks yellowly-olive to me.
