James Roday Rodriguez, previously credited as James Roday, is an American actor, director, and screenwriter. He is known for starring in the show Psych. He is the co-artistic director of the Red Dog Squadron, a Los Angeles theatre company he co-founded.
He is the son of Deborah and James Escajeda Rodriguez, an Air Force master sergeant.
James has stated:
My father is… from San Antonio, Texas and I’ve got one whole half of my family that’s Mexican through and through. {The other half} is some sort of bright white concoction of English, Irish and Scottish.

Correction. Also has German ancestry as well through the Darby family as well.
Correction. Found Deborah’s parents. Her parents were Walter Lee Craddock and Virginia E. Wilson. One of the woman who married into the Craddock named Elizabeth Darby had Swiss ancestry through her mother Henrietta Kephart whose grandparents were born there in the mid 1700’s.
Correction. Found his mom’s birth record. She was born Deborah Lynn Craddock in California. Didn’t give the name of her parents, but her mom’s maiden name is Williams.
