J-Swift is a Spanish-born musician and music producer. He is known for producing the Pharcyde’s 1993 debut album, “Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde,” including the hit song “Passin’ Me By.” He was the subject of the documentary 1 More Hit. He has also been credited as J-Sw!ft.
J-Swift was born in Madid, Spain. His father, Pedro Martinez, was a Cuban bandleader who left Cuba for Europe in the 1960s; he was of African-Cuban descent. His mother, Dolores, is a native of the Canary Islands, Spain. When J-Swift was two years old, the family emigrated from Madrid to Inglewood, California, U.S., where he grew up. His sister, Mercedes Martinez, is a singer with the group Jazzyfatnastees. He and his wife have four children.
In 2015, J-Swift was deported from the U.S. to Spain.
