I tried to find Marcel and Madeleine’s birth record online, but none of them even the child surnamed Mittenaere was found. But, there is a child surnamed Verheu named Alphonse (http://www.archivesdepartementales.lenord.fr/?id=viewer&doc=accounts%2Fmnesys_ad59%2Fdatas%2Fir%2FEtat%20civil%2FFRAD059_MI_A_Z_2011_07_01%2Exml&page_ref=140043&lot_num=1&img_num=1&index_in_visu= , Image 536/614), son of Belgian immigrants, Arnold Adolf (or Arnold Joseph in French) Verheu and Maria Magdalena (or Marie-Madeleine in French) Vanwambeke, both of Tiegem, Anzegem, West Flanders. I also found Alphonse’s sister, Clara Nathalie Verheu, in MyHeritage. I think the relationship between Madeleine and siblings Alphonse and Clara is likely since Madeleine was a natural-born French citizen, but was an ethnic Flemish.
