Hanley Ramírez is a Dominican Republic-American professional baseball player. He spent most of his career at shortstop, and also at first base, third base, and left field, and played for the Boston Red Sox, the Florida/Miami Marlins, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Cleveland Indians, of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Hanley is the son of Isabela and Toribio Ramírez, an auto mechanic. His first name is a misspelling of Hamlet. He is married to Sanoe (Elisabeth), with whom he has three children. Hanley became a U.S. citizen in April 2019.
