Halla Tómasdóttir is an Icelandic politician and businessperson. She is the President-elect of Iceland, due to take office on 1 August, 2024.

She is the daughter of Kristjana Sigurðardóttir and Tómas Björn Þórhallsson. President-elect Halla is married to businessman Björn Skúlason, with whom she has two children.

President-elect Halla’s paternal grandfather was Þórhallur Sigurbjörn Dalmann Traustason (the son of Geirfinnur Trausti Friðfinnsson and Dómhildur Símonía Jóhannsdóttir). Þórhallur was born in Holtastaðir, Austur-Húnavatnssýsla. Trausti was the son of Geirfunnur as he son of Friðfinnur Jónas Jónasson and Guðrún Sigurðardóttir. Dómhildur was the daughter of Jóhann Jóhannsson and Katrín Lárusdóttir.

President-elect Halla’s paternal grandmother was Helga Jóhannsdóttir (the daughter of Jóhann Jóhannsson and Guðrún Skúladóttir). Helga was born in Hólar, Eyjafjarðarsýsla. President-elect Halla’s great-grandfather Jóhann was the son of Jóhann Jóhannesson and Alfheiður Björnsdóttir. President-elect Halla’s great-grandmother Guðrún was the daughter of Skúli Kristjánsson and Elísabet Jónsdóttir.

President-elect Halla’s maternal grandfather was Sigurður Pétursson (the son of Pétur Jón Sigurðsson and Kristjana Þórunn Einarsdóttir). Sigurður was born in Bolungarvík, Westfjords. Pétur was the son of Sigurður Pétursson and Friðrika Elíasardóttir. President-elect Halla’s great-grandmother Kristjana was the daughter of Einar Jóhannesson and Ragnhildur Bjarnadóttir.

President-elect Halla’s maternal grandmother was Ína Jensen (the daughter of Sigvaldi Jónsson and Sigurlína Jónsdóttir). Ína was born in Seljanes, Árneshreppur, Strandasýsla. Sigvaldi was the son of Jón Ólafsson and Valgerður Gísladóttir. Sigurlína was the daughter of Jón Sigurðsson and Ólína Sigurðardóttir, whose maternal grandfather, Jens Olsen Viborg, was Danish.
