Giorgio Moroder is an Italian composer, music and record producer, songwriter, performer, and DJ. He is known as the “Father of Disco.”
He is of Ladin descent, and is a Ladin speaker. The Ladins are an ethnic group in Northern Italy. Giorgio was married to Francisca Gutierrez, until her death, with whom he has a son. Francisca was Mexican.

He’s a Ladin- speaker (in addition to German and Italian). But he has stated that leaving in L.A. with his Mexican wife, he can speak Ladin only when he calls his brother on the phone

A lot of South Tyroleans ethnically are just Ladins who have been Germanized by Austrian Empire. And for a sort of Stockholm syndrome, they strongly identify as Germanophones.
