Gene Tenace is an American professional baseball player and coach. A catcher and first baseman, he played for the Oakland Athletics, the San Diego Padres, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball (MLB). He also coached the Toronto Blue Jays of MLB.
