Gabriel LaBelle, also known as Gabe LaBelle, is a Canadian/American actor. He starred as Steven Spielberg’s stand-in in The Fabelmans, Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical film about his childhood. His roles also include the films The Predator (2018), Snack Shack, and Saturday Night, and the shows Brand New Cherry Flavor and American Gigolo.

Gabriel is the son of actor Rob LaBelle. His father was born in Minnesota, to a Jewish family; Rob has appeared in many Canadian, as well as American productions. Gabriel was raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, where his father established himself as an actor.

Gabriel’s paternal grandfather was Leonard Frank LaBelle (the son of Charles/Charley LaBelle and Mollie/Molly Werner). Leonard was born in Minnesota. Charles was born in Minnesota, to Romanian Jewish parents, Samuel Labelle and Ruth Mendelowitz. Mollie was a Russian Jewish immigrant.

Gabriel’s paternal grandmother was Natalie Golub (the daughter of Louis Golub and Ida Rabinowitz). Natalie was born in New York, to Russian Jewish parents.
